In addition to the age requirements above, students must meet at least one of the following requirements to qualify for free Pre-K 3 or 4 with SFDR CISD:

• The child is eligible to take part in the national free or reduced-price school lunch program. (click here to see if you qualify)
• The child is unable to speak and comprehend the English language.
• The child is homeless.
• The child is a dependent of an active duty member of the U.S. armed forces.
• The child is or has been in foster care
• The child is a dependent of a recipient of the Star of Texas Award.

Tuition-based Pre-K is also available to 4-year old who do not meet any of the above qualifications. For a list of schools where tuition-based Pre-K is available, click here

Please visit your local campus, or your neighborhood enrollment center (listed below), with the following required documents to obtain the PowerSchool Access information needed to complete the PreK online enrollment forms.

• The child's birth certificate
• The child's current immunization record
• The child's social security card (optional, but will save time if you have it)
• Proof of residence (a utility bill or lease)
• Picture ID of the child's parent or guardian
• Proof of income for all working members of the household, or a SNAP/TANF statement (if the child is eligible for free or reduced-price school lunches)
• Military ID card of parent or guardian (if applicable)
• Court papers indicating conservatorship or foster child placement (if applicable)

After your child has been issued a DISD number, you will be able to complete the enrollment forms online through Unified Classroom.

SFDR CISD does allow 30 days from the enrollment date to submit certain documentation. Please contact the child's school or the office of centralized enrollment to discuss your options.

Keep in mind, most of these schools are application based and less likely to accept students throughout the school year.

All transfers to another neighborhood school must be approved before the beginning of the semester by the campus you would like your child to attend. Click here to access the student transfer application. Please note, acceptances are based on the capacity of the school and up to the principal's discretion.

Schools of choice may require a separate application. Visit the school of choice webpage for their specific entry requirements.

No. Once your child has been approved for a transfer, they may attend that school without reapplying until the last grade offered.

Transportation is provided for most of the programs offered within SFDR CISD, but not all. Check with the school your child will be attending for specific information regarding bus routes to and from school.
